
Jody Lawrence-Turner is executive director of the Fund for Oregon Rural Journalism, a nonprofit founded to help stabilize, sustain and grow Oregon’s rural news organizations. Lawrence-Turner is a career journalist who worked in Oregon, Washington and Idaho and has written about everything from a neighborhood cat that greets middle schoolers arriving at school to a privately owned hydroelectric power plant in rural Washington.
In 2015, she joined The Bulletin in Bend, Oregon, where she has worked as the features, business, health and special projects editor. She stepped into her leadership role with FORJ in 2021 and has spent three years designing its programs, which focus on preserving journalism and protecting democracy in Oregon.

Joe Kline is a photographer always on the lookout for candid and storytelling moments. His style is informed by more than a decade of documenting life as a newspaper photojournalist.
Throughout his career, Joe has worked on stories related to issues of affordable housing and houselessness. Joe’s work over the years has received statewide and national recognition from organizations including the Associated Press, National Press Photographers Association, and Society of Professional Journalists.
Based in Bend, Joe enjoys the opportunity to photograph an abundance of outdoor recreation, news, events, portraits, and more.
